What we save
Your email, a nickname or relationship for each recipient, birthday day and month, optional age at their next birthday, interests, budget and reminder timing. You do not need to enter a full name, birth year, postal address or a child’s email. The service is for adults organising presents.
Birthday reminders and gift recommendations
These emails include product recommendations and may lead to commission-earning links. They are sent only after you explicitly opt in and confirm your email. We record the consent wording version and confirmation time. The reminder is normally sent in the UK morning, once per saved birthday each year, 7, 14 or 30 days ahead. If you join inside that period, it can arrive on the next check. A 29 February birthday is treated as 28 February in non-leap years.
Change your mind whenever you like
Every reminder includes an unsubscribe link. You can also pause emails, edit or remove birthdays, and delete all PresentBuddy details through Manage birthdays. Removing a birthday cancels its pending reminders. Messages already handed to the email provider cannot be recalled. Access links expire after 30 minutes; browser access lasts up to 30 days. Unconfirmed signup details are removed after their link expires plus one day, during normal email-worker activity. Saved birthday details remain until you remove them or delete your subscription.
How gift ideas are chosen
We match saved interests, age where known and budget against permitted product photos and current, in-stock affiliate-feed offers. We do not guess age suitability: children’s suggestions require an age rating recorded in the exact product title. Relevant published weekly picks may be prioritised; this does not mean a product is a bestseller or independently verified as trending. If fewer than ten products qualify, we send fewer. Prices are a dated feed snapshot, not a delivery or price guarantee.
Providers and conversations
We reuse PriceHaggle’s hosting and email providers to operate the service. Product retailers receive information when you follow their links, under their own terms and privacy notices. If you ask a free-text follow-up in the gift finder, xAI processes that question and recent conversation to generate a reply. Conversation text is held in the page while you use it and is not saved to our database. If you choose to email the team, you can review the message before sending it.
Cookies and measurement
An essential session cookie protects forms and private birthday access. Optional Google Analytics loads only after you accept analytics cookies. PresentBuddy records its visits, completed gift searches and retailer clicks separately. Analytics receives only fixed event names, product/retailer identifiers and a result count, never email addresses, birthday details, ages, interests, budgets, private access tokens or conversation text. Private confirmation and birthday-management pages do not load analytics. Cookie settings in the footer lets you change your choice.
